Product Details

This CO2 Monitor has been designed with a simple to read display and a rechargeable lithium battery. Each unit shows the room temperature in celsius and CO2 levels in parts per million (ppm). It monitors the environment in real time, 24 hours per day. The CO2 detection range is from 400ppm to 5000ppm.

CO2 levels are seen as an important indicator of air quality. Airborne transmission of Coronavirus is now recognised as a major source of infection. Whilst it is not possible to easily measure concentration of Covid in the air, it is possible to measure Carbon Dioxide levels. These levels correspond with how "fresh" the air is in a room. Whilst normal outdoor CO2 levels are around 450ppm, an indoor room with several people in (such as an office) and poor ventilation will rapidly rise to over 2000ppm. Recent information out of the Covid SAGE committee has advocated indoor CO2 levels should not exceed 1000ppm, thus ensuring sufficient "fresh" air is circulating.
