What are the hazards of mercury?

Mercury is highly toxic and poisonous in all forms, although most exposure is through mercury vapour. Mercury compounds are easily absorbed by the body after ingestion, skin exposure and particularly through the lungs. It cause problems for the immune, nervous and brain systems, and can lead to memory, mood, coordination and visual and hearing problems. By using a decontamination kit, you greatly reduce the risk of prolonged exposure to mercury and its effects.
